Kiln to Kitchen Dinner ware- including serving vessels for beverages and food
Kiln to Kitchen connects artists to the restaurant world by showcasing the ties between local food, chefs, and ceramics. The goal is to bring handmade ceramics to the chef’s handmade food.
All functional vessels for the service of food and beverage are being called for this show. All work must be for sale.
Project Description
Kiln to Kitchen connects artists to the food craft movement by showcasing the ties between local food, chefs, and ceramics. Kiln to Kitchen’s goal is to create a link between the craft food movement and the vitality of handmade pottery. Through the intersection of collaboration and individual aesthetic, we hope to spark investment in handmade objects among restaurants and chefs who share a common interest.
The show will be comprised of two components. Firstly the ceramics will be juried by respected ceramic artists. Secondly, chefs will choose items that they would like to spot light in one of four dinners that will happen throughout the show. The public is invited to an extended exhibition and dinners.
Artist will have an opportunity to make sales in a few ways. The artist may sell directly to the public the pieces that are in the show or through orders that come from the public to the artist. More importantly, we want the artist to have an opportunity to sell directly to the chefs or restaurants. This can happen as a direct sale or as a designer partnership with Mudsharks.
